Prensa Latina and the Mongolian news agency will coordinate actions

Ulaanbaatar, Feb 3 (Prensa Latina) The Latin American news agency Prensa Latina and its Mongolian counterpart, MONTSAME, will coordinate new actions in compliance with a cooperation agreement signed here in February 2018.

As reported by the Cuban diplomatic mission in that country, that was one of the issues addressed by the island’s ambassador, Jorge Ferrer, when meeting with the new general director of MONTSAME, Sodontogos Erdenetsogt.

The interlocutors discussed the effective implementation of the aforementioned agreement and the need to cover the gaps in international information about both nations, if not the campaigns that misrepresent their realities.

In this context, they recognized the role of both news agencies and their cooperation with others in projecting the image of their countries and, in turn, those of the world within their respective nations.

The Cuban ambassador conveyed to the director of MONTSAME a greeting message from the president of Prensa Latina, Luis Enrique González, and his wishes to strengthen bilateral cooperation ties.

The meeting was attended by the deputy chief and editor-in-chief of MONTSAME, Nasanjargal Sambuunyam, and other directors and journalists of that media outlet.

Founded in 1921, the Mongolian news agency has correspondents in Ulaanbaatar and in 21 provinces of the country, as well as in the capitals of China and Russia.

Prensa Latina was created in Havana in June 1959, at the initiative of Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara. It has correspondents and collaborators in dozens of countries on all continents and provides coverage of international events, especially in Latin America, the Caribbean and Cuba.
