China and Russia defend world order based on international law

Moscow, Mar 20 (Prensa Latina) Russia and China are defending a world order based on international law and the United Nations Charter, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in an article published in the Rossiiskaya Gazeta newspaper on Monday.

The Chinese leader noted that both countries coordinate and interact closely within institutions such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the BRICS, the Group of Twenty (G20) and other international platforms to promote multipolarity.

He pointed out that both China and Russia are taking effective steps to realize true multipolarity, promote universal human values and advocate the establishment of a new type of international relations and a community of common destiny of mankind.

Xi Jinping is paying a state visit to Russia from March 20 to 22 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin said the two leaders will have an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and major international and regional issues of mutual interest.

According to Russian Presidential Advisor Yuri Ushakov, Putin and Xi will address in particular energy and military-technical cooperation between Russia and China, as well as the conflict in Ukraine.

Following the talks in Moscow, the heads of State will sign two joint declarations, and altogether, more than ten documents are scheduled to be penned, Ushakov informed.
