New Delhi, Jun 1 (Prensa Latina) India and China analyzed proposals for the withdrawal from the common border area in order to normalize bilateral relations, diplomatic sources informed.

During the 27th Meeting of the Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on Border Affairs, held on Wednesday, delegations from both countries reviewed the situation of the Current Line of Control in the Western sector.

At the meeting, led by the Assistant Secretary for East Asia of the Indian Foreign Ministry and the Director General of the Department of Ocean and Border Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed initiatives for the withdrawal from the remaining areas.

“The restoration of peace and tranquility will create the conditions for the normalization of bilateral relations,” said a statement from the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Indian and Chinese delegations agreed to hold the 19th round of the senior commanders’ meeting at an early date, in accordance with bilateral agreements and protocols, to advance the restoration of ties. They also set out to continue discussions through military and diplomatic channels.
