Evo Morales denounces police repression in El Alto and La Paz
11 de noviembre de 2019, 15:3La Paz, Nov 11 (Prensa Latina) Former president of Bolivia Evo Morales denounced on Monday the police repression of residents of the cities of Alto and La Paz.
'After the first day of the civic-political-police coup, the mutinous police is repressing with bullets to cause deaths and injuries in El Alto. My solidarity with those innocent victims, including a girl, and the heroic people of El Alto, defenders of democracy,' he posted on his Twitter account.
Morales, who resigned on Sunday faced with a coup d'état to avoid bloodshed, said that 'as in October 2003, Carlos de Mesa, the coup accomplice of the fugitive Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada, inaugurates his coup d'état with repression to cause deaths and injuries in La Paz and El Alto.'
He stressed that the international community is witness to this attempt on life. Through his account @evoespueblo, the indigenous leader also asked, 'no longer as president,' but as a human being, that 'health and education workers return to provide services to the population, after so many strikes.'
Above political positions, they have the mission of taking care of the people with warmth and solidarity, he added.
