South Korea reaffirms commitment to peace on peninsula
Seoul, Jun 30 (Prensa Latina) A year after the meeting between the president of the Committee of State Affairs of Korea, Kim Jong Un, and US President Donald Trump in Panmunjom, South Korea reaffirmed its commitment to regional peace.
The statement was made by the official spokesman for the Ministry of Unification, who recalled that historic moment in 2019 in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), near the site where the armistice was signed in 1953.
He pointed out that the South Korean Government wants to achieve denuclearization and lasting peace on the Korean peninsula, so the country will work hard to bring peace and prosperity to the region.
The spokesman recalled that 12 months ago, Kim Jong Un and Trump agreed in Panmunjom to resume nuclear dialogue at a working level, and South Korean President Moon Jae In was present at the meeting.
