Socialist leader urges Venezuelans to comply with quarantine
Caracas, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's first vice president of the United Socialist Party (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, urged on Monday the people to comply with the radical and collective quarantine to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Twitter, Cabello stressed the importance of preventive measures, such as the compulsory use of facemasks, social distancing and frequent hand washing.
In this sense, the also president of Venezuela's National Constituent Assembly assured that the structures of the PSUV at all levels guarantee the creation of the virus prevention's brigades.
On Sunday, Venezuela's head of State Nicolas Maduro affirmed that the PSUV turned into a social movement and the only political force, which is followed, for its leadership, by citizens.
The president also updated that since Monday a new health poll was activated through the Homeland System (organizational mechanism) to be aware of the Covid-19 cases and cut the chains of more afflicted in the country.
According to Maduro, the goal is to detect any new outbreak of Covid-19 to facilitate immediate attention; that is why, he called on governors and mayors to meet every day to assess the situation, measures and actions against the pandemic.
Up to date, Venezuela has registered 7,169 Covid-19 cases, after adding another 419 infected on Sunday, the highest number in 24 hours since the first Covid-19 case in the country.
