Dominican health authorities report a peak of deaths from Covid-19
Santo Domingo, Aug 11 (Prensa Latina) The death toll from Covid-19 increased to 1,346 on Tuesday in the Dominican Republic, where infections also grew by 81,994 cases.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, there were another 18 deaths, as well as 595 Covid-19 cases.
Of the total cases, 51.66 percent are men and the average age is 38 years.
As for the deaths, 65.45 percent were men and the average age was 67 years.
According to the briefing, the provinces with the highest number of afflicted are the Distrito Nacional (23,030), Santo Domingo (17,504) and Santiago (8,109).
The fatality rate in the country was 1.66 percent and the positivity rate remains high at 33.55 percent.
