China maintains progressive control over new Covid-19 outbreaks
Beijing, Aug 14 (Prensa Latina) China reported on Friday 30 new Covid-19 cases, eight are of local transmission and 22 are imported, thus confirming the progressive control over the new coronavirus outbreaks active in the nation.
China's National Health Commission informed that all local cases were detected in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, where the measures taken more than a month ago curbed the spread of the disease.
According to Chinese health authorities, of 22 cases who returned from abroad, 16 were reported in Shanghai municipality, five in northwest Shaanxi province and one in southwest Sichuan, respectively.
No deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, so China has been more than five months without regretting the loss of a person from this dangerous pneumonia.
Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region continues with the most complicated epidemiological situation in all China due to a new outbreak of the virus that reported 65 deaths and more than 4,300 cases in less than a month.
Since the disease was detected in late 2019, China has reported 4,704 Covid-19 deaths, some 293 are asymptomatic patients, and of 89,526 cases, at least 2,243 are compatriots who returned from abroad.
