Lausanne, Switzerland, (Prensa Latina) Less than 10 months before the opening of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), on Friday recognized organizers´ efforts and work by mentioning it will be the 'best games ever organized.'
In a virtual session between IOC and the organizing committee, Thomas Bach highlighted the significant progress to the program, reinforcing his idea of 'resounding success'.
Thomas Bach warned coming weeks will demand 'flexibility' and 'creativity' from all people deeply involved in the process, as part of a necessary adjustment to a world marked by the coronavirus.
Likewise, he highlighted the 52 measures announced to simplify chapters of the program to cut down on costs, optimize economic resources and adapt to the health crisis.
Among the adjustments, there is the reduction of members of the Olympic committees, sponsors and other bodies with direct representation in the event, as well as the reduction or elimination of different institutional acts.
