Presidents of Argentina and China favor strengthening joint work
Buenos Aires, Sep 29 (Prensa Latina) Argentine President Alberto Fernandez on Tuesday congratulated his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, on the eve of the 71st anniversary of the foundation of that country, during a telephone call in which they agreed to strengthen joint work.
The two presidents reviewed the world situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, and favored recuing multilateralism, and Xi Jinping invited Fernandez to pay a State visit to China when conditions allow it.
According to a communiqué from Casa Rosada (Pink House), Xi Jinping invited the Argentina president to China 'to seal a new stage of relations between the two countries and to boost mutual cooperation'.
During the conversation, the two presidents highlighted the level of bilateral relations and agreed on boosting dynamism to the Comprehensive Strategic Association between the two countries by implementing projects in water and sanitation, housing, connectivity, renewable energy and transport infrastructure.
'We want more Argentinean products and more added value to come to China,' Xi Jinping told Fernandez.
The Argentine president conveyed his wish to start the negotiations on the incorporation into the Belt and Road Initiative to create another platform for new works and better conditions for the development of projects to boost productive capacities.
Argentina offers many opportunities in which China can be a key stakeholder, Argentina president told his Chinese peer, after mentioning public works, energy, housing and transport as the key sectors.
Xi Jinping asked for Argentina's cooperation to strengthen China's relations with Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR).
