Iranian president highlights U.S. failure in nuclear deal
Tehran, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted today the U.S. failure in its attempt to pressure countries to end the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or nuclear deal.
The U.S. schemes to achieve this goal, he said, fell through on Sunday when the arms embargo against the Islamic Republic established by the UN under Resolution 2231 of the Security Council ended.
Since Donald Trump took on the U.S. presidency, he kept a policy against the JCPOA, from which Washington withdrew in 2018 and did everything in its power for other signatory countries to follow.
'The end of the arms embargo, he said, imposed the logic of truth, law, and rationality that defeated force and intimidation,' he added. According to Rouhani, the most important thing is not the clearance to trade arms, but the fact that the Iranian people's rights were safeguarded.
