Iranian president places hope in Joe Biden
Tehran, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's hopes are Wednesday pinned on a change in policy towards the Islamic Republic by US President-Elect Joe Biden.
'We hope the next US government will condemn Trump's anti-Iranian policies and compensate for mistakes made by the outgoing president,' the head of State said. Rouhani denounced that the real estate magnate conducted the worst crimes in US against independent nations, especially Iran and Palestine, although he failed.
'Donald Trump lost the November 3 elections due to his erroneous foreign policy, his racist measures and the mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic,' the Iranian president stressed.
If the next US government shows determination to resolve those differences, an improvement in bilateral relations would also be easy, he noted.
The condition is the United States joins the nuclear deal sealed between Tehran and the 5+1 group (the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia and China plus Germany). Washington withdrew it in 2018, after which it reimposed punitive measures against the Islamic Republic.
