Buenos Aires, Nov 28 (Prensa Latina) With only two cities on lockdown, Argentina is advancing today towards a new opening phase with less restrictions and distancing for almost the entire country. As cases drop, although prevention and care measures are still in full operation, President Alberto Fernandez announced yesterday that only the cities of Bariloche, in Rio Negro, and Puerto Deseado, in Santa Cruz, will remain on lockdown. We have seen a clear improvement of the situation in the past two weeks, both in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area and the national situation, the number of infections have significantly dropped, nearly by 30 percent, the president assured when announcing the new health decisions.

With over 1,399,431 infections since Covid-19 first hit the country in March, to date Argentina records almost 38,000 deaths, and the number of beds in intensive care are at 56.6 percent nationwide and 59.2 percent in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.
The president specified that the newly created Strategic Vaccination Command is working to vaccinate all people at risk between January and February, so that by March, when autumn arrives, the entire population at risk will be immunized.
