Ethiopia's PM Abiy calls for building a booming nation
Addis Ababa, Jan 18 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Monday called for increased efforts to build a flourishing and inclusive country, through a message released regarding the celebration of Epiphany (Timkat).
We must learn from what baptism of Jesus Christ stands for and also turn circumstances into openings so as to plan, order and carry out works that guarantee a much better future for Ethiopia, said Ahmed.
Let's remember two things as we celebrate: humility and transformation, Abiy stated, as he extended his best wishes to all Ethiopian Christians.
Jesus, he assured, did not convert the nature of water but the service linked to it, and we similarly have to change the tools applied to malicious acts into instruments to advocate for domestic welfare.
He urged to show compassion for those most in need and to respect the sanitary measures to fight the Covid-19 pandemic during the two days (today and tomorrow) of the so-called Ketera-Timkat festival.
