Belarusian veterans lash out at US maneuvers on Cuba
Minsk, Jan 19 (Prensa Latina) Belarusian veteran fighters who were involved in the so-called Cuban Missile Crisis, on Tuesday strongly rejected Cuba's inclusion in the US list of States that sponsor terrorism.
Alongside members of the Belarusian Section of the International Social Fund 'Military Commander G.K. Zhukov', the veterans, who call themselves Los Cubanos (The Cubans), 'strongly condemned the cynical and hypocritical US act.'
Cuba has never been or is a sponsor of terrorism and the US government knows this very well. Cuba has always been and continues to be a state of good will, with peaceful initiatives, said the organizations.
The United States is currently applying economic measures on Cuba in order to punish its people, highlighted the solidarity groups.
The inclusion of Cuba in the unilateral list of States that sponsor terrorism was ordered by the outgoing US President Donald Trump, with obvious objective of hindering Havana-Washington relations during the incoming administration.
Cuba was already included on this list, and excluded in 2015, under Barack Obama, based on agreements reached by Havana and Washington for reestablishing their bilateral relations.
