Budapest, Jan 22 (Prensa Latina) The Hungarian Workers' Party 2006-European Left on Friday expressed its support for Cuba and described the US decision to include the Caribbean island again in a list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.
In a statement released in this capital, the organization denounced Washington's aggressions against Cuba for more than six decades.
Cuba, which pursues socialist objectives, has been a victim of US-backed terrorism since the early days of the Revolution.
Among such attacks are the armed aggression in Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs) in 1961 and the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed since 1962, the text points out.
It also condemns the increase in aggressions during the administration of Donald Trump, whose actions 'mainly affect the population, in addition to the sanctions that restrict tourism and family ties, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.'
The communiqué also stresses that despite the hostile policy by the United States, Cuba shows its solidarity with other countries by sending medical brigades.
We support the Cuban people in the face of the difficulties caused by the US extreme right wing. We wish the successful continuation of the construction of a socialist society, concludes the text.
