Lopez Obrador ratifies anti-Covid vaccination first for older adults
24 de febrero de 2021, 14:20Mexico, Feb 24 (Prensa Latina) Mexico President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador reiterated on Wednesday that the anti-Covid-19 vaccination program remains older adults as a priority.
During his morning press briefing at the National Palace, the president alerted the population that the only valid vaccines in the country are those that are being provided by the public health system, the others are false and he asked not to be fooled.
Lopez Obrador recalled that all adults aged 60 years and older begin vaccination in the mayors' offices in Iztacalco, Tlahuac and Xochimilco, where the first doses of Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine will be administrated. It will be carried out in alphabetical order according to the first surname of the person.
The sending of vaccines to a municipality or mayor's office is programmed to cover all older adults, so it is not necessary that they all go to the vaccination centers the first day and added that mass vaccination sites are being activated in places with up to 40 cells of inoculation to attend between 5,000 and 7,000 per day, he said.
