Covid-19 causes new contagions and deaths in Africa

There was also an increase in deaths due to contagions, with 485 on a single day, bringing the total death toll to 104,664.
The question is whether the new CDC report is a warning of a greater spread or a repetition of the ups and downs both infections and deaths have experienced over the last year since the outbreak of the pandemic in the African continent.
The case of South Sudan is a significant one, since on the contrary there were 109 contagions and three deaths, according to the spokesman for the Ministry of Health Hussein Abdelbagi Akol.
These figures are small, considering that this is one of the poorest countries in the continent, lacks a healthcare system and is beset by armed conflicts that have caused population exoduses, relentless drought and, to top it all, the devastating effects of a plague of desert locusts.
