Kremlin calls on Washington to inform itself better on Russia
Moscow, Jul 28 (Prensa Latina) The official spokesman for the Kremlin, Dmitri Peskov, invited the aides of the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to provide him with correct information on the economy of Russia.
Regarding this, Peskov informed that oil and gas accounted only for 15.2% of Russia's GDP, in response to recent statements made by Biden.
Biden said on Tuesday that Russia allegedly has nothing else but nuclear weapons and oil and gas during a speech at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Peskov stated that the words of the President of the UNited States are essentially incorrect and show little knowledge on modern Russia, as reported by the TASS news agency.
The spokesman went on to say that such speeches are on demand among the US intelligence community. 'Obviously, the President of the United States reads the addresses prepared for him by his team,' he said.
'Yes, Russia is the greatest nuclear power, and yes, this is a country whose oil and gas sphere is quite large. But affirming that Russia has nothing else is fundamentally wrong,' he stressed.
