DPRK researcher lashes out at hostile US blockade against Cuba
Pyongyang, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) Kim Jin Hui, researcher from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday railed against US blockade imposed for over six decades on Cuba, causing enormous economic losses.
In an article published on Monday by the ACNC agency, Kim pointed out that the United States has not for decades respected the right of a sovereign State to exercise its legitimate independent development.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Washington once afresh exerted a lot of pressure on international companies in commercial transactions with Cuba in 2020 not to offer oxygen inhalers essential for treating Covid-19 patients, the Korean researcher stressed.
Recently, the United States restricted sending materials to Cuba, thus affecting Cuba´s health system and the lives of its population.
Punitive actions extended to politics, economy, military affairs, culture and even daily life of people from Venezuela, Syria and other countries put their domestic economy in stagnation and slow down the ordinary and peaceful development of sovereign States.
The problem is that such crimes are committed under the umbrella of the defense of human rights (HR), the article referred.
At every opportunity, 'the United States criticizes the human right issues in other nations and publishes annually a report on the situation in each country as if it were the international judge,' the text added.
Back in July, the US State Department presented the promotion of human rights and democracy as a primary task of diplomats deployed in many countries around the world, and ordered them to use all possible means that can be applied to call for compliance.
