The agreement, which concluded a strategic partner selection process, includes the lithium exploitation in the Coipasa salt flats, located in Oruro (southwest), and in the Pastos Grandes salt flats, in Potosi (south).
The resources, according to the source, will be used for the construction of at least eight plants specialized in the lithium production chain, such as potassium sulfate, lithium hydroxide, sodium bromide and lithium carbonate, among others.
The capital disbursements are subject to confirmation once the feasibility studies of the projects are known, said YLB.
The company signed an agreement last December with Germany's ACI Systems Germany GmbH for the exploitation of lithium in the Uyuni salt flats, located in Potosi, mainly for the battery production for electric cars and an industrial cathode plant, with an investment of about 900 million dollars.
