The meeting between the foreign ministers was held within the framework of the emergency meeting at the ministerial level of the Arab League to address the Turkish incursion into northern Syria. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shoukry and Al Khalifa discussed ways to maintain the sovereignty of Syria, as well as the unity of its people and its lands.
Earlier, the Egyptian minister held a consultative meeting on the same issue with the foreign ministers of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Jordan at the Tahrir Palace.
Similarly, the head of Foreign Affairs consulted with a delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council.

Cairo, Oct 12 (Prensa Latina) Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Bahraini counterpart, Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, discussed today the latest developments regarding Turkey's offensive in Syria.
The two ministers addressed in Cairo the consequences of such serious action against Syrian unity and the path of that country's political process, in line with resolution 2254 of the UN Security Council.
