Cuba urges the world to unite in the face of Covid-19

Havana, March 27 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Minister of Public Health Jose Angel Portal affirmed the eve that the Covid-19 pandemic is more than a health crisis and urged the countries to act like one to protect all.
On Mesa Redonda TV programme, the official reported that in such regard, 10 brigades made up of physicians and nurses travelled to ten countries to contribute in the care of afflicted people.
Over 340 Cuban experts are in Venezuela, Nicaragua, Jamaica, Haiti, Italy, Belize, Suriname, Grenada, Antigua and San Vicente, he noted.
Portal alluded to a message from WHO's Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in which he stressed the importance of working together to keep open the lines of supplies, as well as supporting the nations in need.
The minister rejected the questionings of the US government on Cuban medical brigades and US Deputy Secretary's opinions against Venezuela's health government system. 'We are aware of Venezuelan government effort to protect its people's health,' he underscored.
Covid-19 disease has been reported in 171 countries, with 416,916 confirmed cases and 18,565 deaths for a fatality of 4, 4 percent. WHO registers 125 nations in spreading.
In the Americas, there are 34 afflicted countries and 11 overseas territories and there were confirmed 64,808 cases.
