Russia presents trial to fight against Covid-19
Moscow, March 28 (Prensa Latina) Russia presented this Saturday a trial to fight against SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, causing Covid-19 pandemic, on the basis of Mefloquine medicine, used to treat malaria, indicated the capital's television.
Russia's Federal Medical Biological Agency noted that the scientific research center Farmzashita made a healing scheme, based on China's and France's experience.
The drug with great selectivity blocks the cytopathic effect of coronavirus in the cells harvest and prevents its reproduction, while the immunosuppressive effect of Mefloquine contains activating the inflammatory response, triggered by the virus.
According to the agency's director, Veronica Skvartsova the supply of macrolide antibiotics and synthetic penicillin not only thwarts the formation of a second bacterial- virological syndrome, but also increases antiviral media in blood plasma and lungs.
This would allow the cure of patients with different levels of complications, affirmed the also former minister of Health.
Besides, on Mefloquine basis, an effective and save prophylactic scheme is made to fight against coronavirus, she stressed.
Yesterday, Russia announced carrying out trials to the production of a multiple apparatus of artificial respiration, which would allow assisting several patients at once, reported the capital's television.
According to Skvartsova, hospitals have already counted with such kind of apparatuses, whose use of a special bacteriological filter prevents polluting air among patients.
