You're not alone, Vives and Blades song for those isolated
Panama, Apr 19 (Prensa Latina) You are not alone is the title of the song that Panamanian Rubén Blades and Colombian Carlos Vives dedicate today to the sick, especially those who live in isolation imposed by Covid-19.
In his Plague Journal, produced in the wake of the pandemic that hits the world, Blades confessed that the idea of ??writing this tune occurred to him when he realized there were songs for everything, except for people suffering from discomfort.
'Because of the reaction to my theme Love and Control, I realized that many people experience the need to express their feelings when faced with the situation of having a sick relative or loved one. That led me to write a draft of the song', said the singer-songwriter in his usual record on the Covid-19 that he publishes on his website.
Later, 'when Carlos Vives invited me to be part of his new album, I suggested that we both record the 'Song for the Sick'. Carlos agreed and contributed the lyrics and music to what I had written and presented. This is how the topic came up', he specified.
The interpreter and composer of popular ballads such as Pedro Navaja assured that the worst thing that can happen to a person is to feel alone when they are sick, while highlighting the contribution of Roberto Delgado and Orquesta (Panama), which worked on the instrumentation and later recording of the song in September 2019.
Since then, the details of its world premiere remained silent, which took place during the Panama Solidario virtual concert held last Sunday and brought together renowned voices from the Latin American and national pentagram.
In this regard, Blades confessed -in the middle of the show- that the market launch was scheduled for another time, but the current situation in the world brought forward the plan because 'the most important thing now is for people to feel better, with faith and enthusiasm, and this song helps that'.
And he stressed: 'Rest assured that we are going to get out of this together, although it is very difficult', a purpose that in his opinion is only possible if we practice solidarity.
Vives, for his part, thanked Blades for the opportunity to record this song with him, at such a difficult time for humanity, since these are 'times of great fear and fear, where we must bring out the best in us and tell the sick they are not alone, because:
'(?) Although the night may seem endless / at the end it will leave with the light of day. Do not lose faith / always keep in mind / you are not alone / be patient and you will see (...) You are not alone / we will take care of you. You are not alone / here are your friends. You are not alone / your family is here (?) '.
