According to the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which quoted its embassy in China, the solidarity shipment is made up of thousands of disposable protective gowns, medical N95 facemask, surgical masks, medical safety glasses, disposable sterile surgical gloves, and medical safety boots.
Foreign Minister Rodolfo Solano expressed gratitude for the important and timely cooperation from the People's Republic of China, which shows the ties of friendship and solidarity between the peoples of Costa Rica and China.
Solano highlighted that the donated supplies will help to adequately respond to Costa Rica's needs to fight this coronavirus emergency.
This is the third donation from China to Costa Rica to fight the Covid-19 pandemic since early March, when the country received the first two donations, one consisting of a significant number of test kits to detect the disease, he said.
