Covid-19 cases increase in Venezuela
Caracas, May 25 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro informed that 111 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, totaling 1,121 patients.
Of those cases, 18 are of community transmission, 73 cases were imported from Colombia and 20 were infected by travelers, mainly security and health personnel, the head of State said on Sunday during a contact with the commission in charge of coordinating the fight against the pandemic.
According to the report, only 278 cases are from the community, the remaining 843 are from migrants who entered the country through the border, representing 75% of the total, with 262 recoveries and 10 deaths.
Executive Vice President Delcy Rodriguez explained that given this situation, the border posts are being reconditioned to build special camps and field hospitals to fight the coronavirus.
