Vietnam corners new coronavirus: 40 days without domestic contagions
Hanoi, May 26 (Prensa Latina) The strict measures taken by Vietnam to prevent the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus from spreading have allowed the country to report 40 consecutive days without autochthonous Covid-19 cases.
According to the commission in charge of containing the pandemic, since April 16, no domestic contagions have been reported. Of 326 cases reported four month ago, the latest 186 cases have been imported from other nations, where the epidemiological situation is complicated.
The country is free of deaths and 272 patients have recovered from the disease; that is 82% of the total.
The government considers that the pandemic is under control, and that a new phase can be implemented while observing some preventive measures.
