Lopez Obrador welcomes new normality, resumes tours through Mexico
Mexico, May 29 (Prensa Latina) Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced today that he is embracing the new normality and will resume his traditional tours of the country's interior starting June 1.
The president, who received numerous criticisms for the late way in which he accepted the confinement, and receives them again since he announced a week ago his intention to resume visits to the states, gave on Friday decision as done.
In his morning press briefing at the National Palace, he indicated that a new pace of work also begins for him, since the morning conferences and his work with the cabinet will be held starting Monday, alternating each week at the Palace and in some states.
He reassured his critics by committing himself to comply with all the epidemiological safety protocols determined by the Health Secretariat in the new work stage.
The leader also explained that he will carry out daily national security meetings as he has done up to now in order to continue dealing with everything related to peace in the country, but that now it will be a week in the capital and another week in the interior.
He also pledged not to convene massive public events and to comply with the protocol of meetings with no more than 50 people, including journalists and cameramen.
All public events will be protected by a fence to maintain a healthy distance, and asked his opponents not to attend the events, because they will not be invited and for this time be respectful and not provocative, noted the incumbent.
