Damascus, Jul 1 (Prensa Latina) At least five civilians and a military man lost their lives in the explosion of remnant mines by terrorists in southern and central Syria.
Four civilians, including three children, were killed and six others were injured in the blast of two mines in the towns of Athereya and Souran in the north of Hama province, 235 kilometers north of the capital Damascus, local media reported.
Another explosive device in the town of Aquerbat killed a soldier and wounded four others during combing operations in that area that recently witnessed attacks by gangs from the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group.
In addition, a mine claimed the life of a young man in the eastern part of the Salamieh municipality in Hama province.
In the Deraa province, located 100 kilometers south of Damascus, four farmers were injured as a mine exploded in the path of a wheat harvester and caused the destruction of the machinery and the burning of the fields.
In the face of the advance of the Syrian army, the radicals proceeded to plant explosives in houses and agricultural lands in order to hinder the liberation of the areas and prevent the return of displaced people to their places of origin.
