Caracas, Jul 1 (Prensa Latina) The president of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, called on the people to unite in defense of the Essequibo.
Speaking at an ANC session, Cabello assured that Venezuelans have the absolute and necessary strength to defend that region, and noted that the actions taking place there are provocations in which the governments that are after the country's wealth are involved.
In that regard, Cabello, who is also the vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), pointed out that the Bolivarian nation will respond with the legal foundations established in the Constitution of the Republic, which has been in force since 1999.
He recalled that behind all the intentions to appropriate the Essequibo are the personal interests of opposition lawmaker Juan Guaido, who was recognized by the United States as Venezuela's interim president and is negotiating the country's sovereignty through his associates.
