Syria and Iran sign military cooperation treaty
Damascus, Jul 8 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian Arab Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a cooperation treaty on military and security matters in Damascus on Wednesday.
The document was signed at the headquarters of the Syrian Defense Ministry by Defense Minister Major General Ali Abdullah Ayub and Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammed Baquimri.
The two parties ratified their willingness to continue coordination in order to face the common dangers and challenges, with the continuation of the fight against terrorism on the forefront, said a statement issued at the end of the meetings held between the delegations of both countries.
The Syrian defense minister described his country's relations with the Iran as strategic, and the cooperation at the military level is becoming stronger despite increasing pressure and challenges.
In turn, Iranian high command ratified the will to promote relations with Syria in military, defensive and security matters.
