Covid-19 Mortality Rate Decreases in India
New Delhi, 11 Jul (Prensa Latina) The mortality rate of patients suffering from Covid-19 in India is decreasing, and was reportedly pegged on Saturday at 2.72 percent.
The figure is lower than mortality rates in many other countries, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare highlighted, adding the State is doing great efforts to keep the number of fatlities low. A month ago, the rate was 2.82 percent.
For its part, the Ministry of Health noted that 30 Indian states and territories have this indicator below the national average.
The states of Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu have zero mortality rate.
There is also an improvement in India in the recovery rate of patients with the new coronavirus, that is now 62.42 percent. In 18 states and territories the numbers of patients cured are higher than the national average.
In all, India has 820,916 cases and 22,123 deaths from the current pandemic, although at least 515,387 patients have already recovered.
