France recovers business creation after Covid-19 outbreak
Paris, Jul 15 (Prensa Latina) The creation of companies shows a strong recovery in France in June, after returning to the pre-outbreak level, according to a publication from the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).
The source added that the registration of new companies increased 38.2%, from a boom of 43.2% for traditional companies and 33.6% for small enterprises.
The sectors with the highest incidence were accommodation and restaurants, followed by transportation and storage.
According to the INSEE, rapid restoration and home delivery of products were the activities with the highest demand in June, in the midst of the process of opening to return to the normal economic and social life, following the enactment of the quarantine from March 17 to May 11.
The total number of companies created in France over the last three months (April to June) fell 18% compared to the same period in 2019.
Covid-19 hit hard the national economy, which is preparing to deal with a severe recession and the collapse of the annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by up to 11%, an unprecedented scenario since World War II (1939-1945).
