Cuba's health priority is seeking Covid-19 infection source

Havana, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's health system is currently working hard to detect the largest number of Covid-19 cases to curb the spread of the pandemic, but sometimes to detect the source of infection is difficult in many patients with the virus, Dr. Francisco Duran commented.
During his daily press briefings the director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health explains the way in which a person gets infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, where and what the procedure to follow will be with probable cases who are contact of active patients.
The Cuban doctor has repeatedly said that when the source of infection is not known not known at the time of diagnosis, it is then investigated to explain the circumstances of the infection and find contacts and suspected cases.
For this reason, the State has implemented several population study strategies such as the so-called active investigation in which family doctors, nurses and medicine students visit homes across the country in search of someone with fever or coronavirus-related symptoms.
Another measure Cuban health authorities uses is a virtual app freely available to mobile users so that the population could self-examine and inform about their health condition.
