Havana, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's tourism minister, Juan Carlos García, has confirmed that this country is ready to receive travelers from all over the world, especially thanks to the health security it provides.
García spoke to the nation through the Round Table television program on Tuesday evening dedicated to recovery efforts and the economic-social strategy to update this sector.
He recalled that since July 1, the doors were open to booking trips to the island, but to the keys such as Cayo Coco, Santa María, Cruz and Largo del Sur, for now.
Many of the hotels in such destinations reopened to serve foreign vacationers and airports are duly certified by the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Tourism.
Each of these facilities has a protection team made up of a doctor, nurse and epidemiologist, and a system of protocols that protect both guests and workers.
Garcia notified that travelers from Russia to keys Coco and Santa María booked their stay for the second half of August. Russia was in 2019 the third issuing market towards this island.
Russia has already confirmed the list of countries to which its citizens can travel, including Cuba, recognizing the health security conditions of this Caribbean nation.
Although Canada has always been the first issuing market, tourists from this country are expected in Cuba next September.
The minister hopes that in future European lists, Cuba will be included because many important issuing countries, like France, Italy, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom, have Cuba as their destination.
