French association promotes social projects in two Cuban provinces
By Waldo Mendiluza
Paris, Jul 24 (Prensa Latina) The Association Cuba Cooperation France (CubaCoop) is promoting three projects in sectors such as education, culture and access to drinking water in the Cuban provinces of Cienfuegos and Camagüey, its president, Victor Fernandez, highlighted on Friday.
Fernandez told Prensa Latina that this is the materialization of the commitment by the French association founded in 1995 with the socio-economic development of the Caribbean nation, amid the US-imposed economic, commercial and financial blockade and its tightening by the current administration.
CubaCoop has two positions, one is to strongly condemn this blockade and the other is that this rejection is translated into concrete actions to support the island and its development, he stressed.
According to the president of the Association, the project in Camagüey has a 30,000-euros contribution, allocated to research the bacteriological action of the TradiFiltro ceramic filter in polluted waters in urban and rural communities of that Cuban province.
CubaCoop supports two projects in Cienfuegos. It donates resources for educational plans and cultural activity in communities in that central Cuban territory, Fernandez told Prensa Latina.
The president of CubaCoop, an association involved in dozens of the island's socio-economic development projects over the last 25 years, assured that other actions are underway, among them those related to health aid, with the shipment of hospital beds.
