Cuba's work fighting Covid-19 highlighted in Honduras
Tegucigalpa, Jul 27 (Prensa Latina) Despite the US blockade, Cuban scientists are producing effective medicines to fight the Covid-19 epidemic globally, a communication from the Honduras-Cuba Friendship Association (AAHC) highlighted in Tegucigalpa on Monday.
On behalf of the solidarity organization, writer Anarella Velez pointed out the fact that in such harassing conditions, Cuba did not report deaths from the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus over the last two weeks.
The successful founding (in 2005) of the Henry Reeve contingent of internationalist doctors by the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, is evident in the current health situation when the health professional brigades from the Caribbean nation are saving lives in all continents, Velez said.
In case of her country, the historian, essayist, and cultural promoter recalled the presence of almost 2,200 Cuban health collaborators for 20 years (as of the natural disaster caused by Hurricane Mitch in 1998).
