Kenya exceeds 20,000 Covid-19 cases
31 de julio de 2020, 16:14Nairobi, Jul 31 (Prensa Latina) Kenya exceeded on Friday the figure of 20,000 Covid-19 cases, registering another 723 afflicted by the novel coronavirus which has been spreading slowly but steadily in the country, according to a health source.
The Secretary of the Health Cabinet, Dr. Mutahi Kawe, unfolded 20,636 Covid-19 patients so far, pointing out that the latest infected are 450 men and 273 women.
Kawe indicated, in that context, that the death toll from Covid-19 amounted to 341, by adding the 16 deaths reported on Thursday, and that there are 8,165 recoveries from Covid-19.
Meanwhile, the expert noted that as Kenya experiences a slow rate of rise in Covid-19 cases, active epidemiological watch over new infections is being kept in counties.
The latest briefing on the behavior of the pandemic in this territory is issued at the time Africa recorded 910,325 Covid-19 cases on Friday, including 19,324 deaths, which shows that SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is spreading on this continent.
