31 de julio de 2020, 17:13Santo Domingo, Jul 31 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican government authorized the reopening of gymnasiums, sports and welfare centers, starting this Friday, despite the increase in the number of Covid-19 infections registered in the country.
The High Level Commission for the Prevention and Control of Coronavirus authorized the aforementioned opening 'under strict compliance with the protocol that guarantees the health of the clients.'
It also noted that the minimum requirements of that protocol include limited capacity, cleaning, hygiene and ventilation measures, in addition to the mandatory use of the mask.
According to the Minister of the Presidency, Gustavo Montalvo, who released the information, the country's authorities are aware of the benefits of exercising to improve physical and mental health, and invited users of gyms, sports and wellness centers to use them in accordance with the measures provided.
The Dominican Republic is currently facing a resurgence of the pandemic and a situation in its hospital facilities that worries its population, which is calling for actions to close rather than open as announced.
