Bolivia's health authorities confirm over 2,000 new Covid-19 cases
La Paz, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia's Ministry of Health confirmed on Sunday another 2,400 Covid-19 case in the last 24 hours and 87 deaths.
The epidemiological briefing updated in the department of Oruro another 500 patients, La Paz (474), Cochabamba (388), Santa Cruz (329), Tarija (116), Beni (111), Chuquisaca (43), Potosi (34) and Pando (9).
Bolivia has accumulated since the first outbreak of the novel coronavirus on March 10, a total of 78,793 Covid-19 cases, 23,968 recoveries and 3,363 deaths from Covid-19.
Given those figures, the national head of the Epidemiology Unit of that State portfolio, Virgilio Prieto, urged the population to raise awareness because August will be a very 'dangerous and problematic' month due to the rapid spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
'The only way to avoid transmission is to wear facemasks permanently, if possible wear protective glasses indoors and maintain constant hand washing,' Prieto warned.
Likewise, he recalled other preventive measures such as physical distancing in markets, public transport, banks and other places where people do not comply properly with biosafety restrictions.
