Cuba's health experts report 2,369 recoveries from Covid-19
Havana, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's National Director of Epidemiology Francisco Duran reported on Sunday 2,369 recoveries from Covid-19, that is, 89.6 percent of the 2,646 Covid-19 cases recorded since the first coronavirus outbreak on March 11.
On the daily press briefing to update those data, the expert released there were two recoveries in the last 24 hours, an unfavorable indicator on the grounds there remain 188 active cases, 187 of them with stable clinical evolution.
Health authorities reiterate that the risk is still extremely high, which is why they insist on complying with control and protection measures to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, and on continuing mass enquiries.
On Saturday, specialists carried out 3,334 diagnostic tests across the country to detect carriers of SARS-CoV-2 virus, amounting the samples to 270,998 up to date.
There were no deaths reported yesterday, so the death toll remains at 87 for over three consecutive weeks.
Dr. Duran highlighted the preventive treatment that has been taking place in Cuba since the start of the pandemic, by isolating contacts from active Covid-19 patients and the suspected cases.
