Lebanon's Prime Minister decrees national mourning for explosions
Beirut, Aug 4 (Prensa Latina) Lebanon's Prime Minister Hassan Diab announced on Tuesday that there will be a national mourning on Wednesday to pay tribute to the victims of two explosions in the port of Beirut.
The detonations caused dozens of deaths, hundreds of injuries and remarkable damage to buildings and facilities in an area of several kilometers around.
Until now, no authority has provided details of the incident's onset, while images of the destruction and the mushroom cloud that triggered the blasts are seen on social networks.
Rubble and glass littered the streets of downtown Beirut.
The media linked the onset of the incident with the ignition of a container loaded with pyrotechnic articles and not with an attack.
