Italy announces start of human trials of Covid-19 vaccine candidate
Rome, Aug 7 (Prensa Latina) Italy's government of Lazio announced on Friday the start of human trials of a local Covid-19 vaccine candidate on August 24.
The president of the regional government, Nicola Zingaretti, referred to the event in a press release posted on Facebook in which he unfolded the arrival of the first doses of the drug to the Lazzaro Spalanzani Institute of Communicable Diseases, 'ready for the human experimentation phase' in 90 volunteers.
According to the information released by several media, the GRAd-COV2 project, carried out by the ReiThera Biotechnology Company, has an initial financing of eight million euros, five provided by the Lazio Region, whose capital is Rome, and three by the Ministry of Scientific Research.
