Angola's government reports three more deaths from Covid-19
Luanda, Aug 10 (Prensa Latina) Angola's government reported on Monday another three deaths from Covid-19, whose epicenter remains in Luanda province due to the peak of local transmission Covid-19 cases there.
As explained by the Secretary of State for Public Health Franco Mufinda the patients that could not be saved, aged 19, 33 and 69, were admitted in the capital healthcare centers.
In the last 24 hours, another seven people tested positive for carrying the novel coronavirus, in different districts of Luanda, by means of a molecular biology analysis, and there were another two recoveries from Covid-19, detailed Dr. Mufinda, representative of the multisectoral commission for the prevention and fight against the pandemic.
So far, the country accumulates 1,679 Covid-19 cases, including 78 deaths, 569 recoveries and 1,032 active cases, noted the expert, reporting the existence of four patients in serious condition with invasive mechanical ventilation.
Doctor Mufinda also indicated that there are 21 seriously ill Covid-19 patients, 22 having a moderate condition and 35 showing mild symptoms, while 950 are asymptomatic, equivalent to over 90 percent.
According to the expert, the national statistical analysis reveals a higher incidence of the virus in men, representing 67 percent of the total.
