Angola counts out 1,735 Covid-19 cases so far
Luanda, August 11 (Prensa Latina) Angola's government reported on Tuesday 56 new Covid-19 cases, accumulating 1,735 afflicted since the onset of the epidemic outbreak up to date.
On the daily press briefing, the Secretary of State for Public Health Franco Mufinda explained that the diagnoses during the last 24 hours correspond mostly to Luanda province, where there are local transmission Covid-19 cases.
Of the 56 patients, 54 reside in different Luandan towns, including Ingombota, Belas, Viana, Kilamba Kiaxi and Talatona, while the remaining two live in the northern province of Cabinda, detailed Dr. Mufinda, representative of the multisectoral commission for prevention and fight against the pandemic.
During the last hours, he announced, there were another two deaths six recoveries from Covid-19 in this capital.
So far, the country accumulates 1,735 Covid-19 cases, diagnosed by means of molecular biology analysis, that figure includes 80 deaths, 575 recoveries and 1,180 active cases, the expert noted.
According to Dr. Mufinda, currently there are five admitted in hospitals under critical condition in need of invasive mechanical ventilation, 22 in serious health condition and the same number with moderate symptoms of the disease, while another 35 show mild symptoms and 996 are asymptomatic.
