Prime minister highlights Cuba's conditions for high-quality tourism
Varadero, Cuba, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero highlighted in Varadero that when international tourism flows into the country, 'we will have better conditions, better quality and a better product.'
Marrero said on Saturday that after tourist activities closed due to the health situation caused by Covid-19, the sector maintained its investment process to improve the facilities, and made a great efforts to remodel them.
'If we are going to look for one of the hardest-hit activities by the pandemic globally, that is tourism. The reopening of tourism is going to be tough, a slow process but with high competitiveness, strong actions to seek the markets and we have to prepare,' he said.
Marrero called for redesigning products, looking for new offers and commercial mechanisms, with good promotion and the appropriate use of social media, and continuing the development of investments, all with the required biosecurity measures.
The prime minister made these statements during a working meeting with tourism managers at different levels and the Matanzas government, where Varadero, Cuba's major coastal resort, is located.
The revival of the Plaza America Convention Center will provide a high-quality shopping center, with efficient services, not only in gastronomy, but also in commerce, he said.
