Egypt ratifies support for political solution in Libya

Weeks ago, the main belligerent forces, the internationally recognized Government of National Accord - and the Tobruk Parliament - backed by the Libyan National Army - announced their decision to take steps towards a ceasefire in Maghreb territory.
The sides failed to maintain a truce outlined at the beginning of the year in that country, embroiled in a war since the overthrow of leader Muammar Gaddafi led to a controversial duality of powers, violent clashes between rival groups, the proliferation of mafias involved in human trafficking of irregular migrants, among other scourges.
In their conversation, El-Sisi and Borrell also analyzed the situation in Gaza and the West Bank and agreed on the need to reactivate negotiations between representatives of the Palestinian people and the Israeli government with the purpose of ending the long conflict, Rady added.
Both leaders insisted on the urgency of reaching a fair solution, in accordance with international rules and references.
