Moscow, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) Although the Covid-19 pandemic is still hitting this country, with more than 5,000 cases in a day, options are opening up for culture, such as the restart of the ballet season at the Bolshoi Theater.
A tribute to the health workers who have remained fighting the pandemic in the last months was the best way to resume the long-awaited season of one of the most famous ballet companies around the world.
The Bolshoi State Ballet Company offered one of its most precious jewels, Don Quixote, with Svetlana Zajarova, in the role of Kitri, and Denis Ratkin, as Basilio.
In front of an audience who should not exceed 50% of the theater's seating capacity due to epidemiological regulations, Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Galikova thanked the doctors for their dedicated effort and sacrifice.
Some 460,000 health workers, 37,000 ambulance drivers, 12,000 volunteers and 25,500 medical students have fought the coronavirus pandemic in these months, Galikova stated.
