France defends two-state solution to Israel-Palestine conflict
14 de septiembre de 2020, 17:21Paris, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) France on Mondays reiterated its support for the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and called for the resumption of peace talks between both parties.
France´s Foreign Ministry adopted a stance on a statement, in which it celebrated the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Israel, a step considered by Paris to be favorable to peace and stability in the Middle East.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the links between Manama and Tel Aviv should contribute to a new regional dynamic, implying the definitive suspension by Israel of the annexation of Palestinian territories and the beginning of direct talks.
In this regard, France´s Foreign Ministry stressed the result of talks should lead to the establishment of two viable States within the framework of International Law and agreed parameters.
Palestine has been under Israel for over half a century, unable to accede to become an independent state and a full member of the UN, a right that has been blocked for decades by the United States with its veto power in the UN Security Council.
